    1. AD P1 Scietific names and taxonomy/classifications of organisms are important because it is a language which is universal. If someone who speaks English says elephant, someone who speaks French wouldn't understand that. However, if the person who spoke English said it's scientific name, then the person who speaks French could also understand. Another reason is that here in the U.S.A we call animals different things. For example, we sometimes all a puma a mountain lion and a mountain lion a cougar. This is resolved by them having the same scientific name.

  2. Scientific names and Taxonomy/classification of organisms is important because everyone would know what animal someone is talking about if they say their scientific name. It is universal. Some people may not know the name of an animal in english, so we use the scientific name. For example, someone in Russia may not know how to say puma in English, so they would use Puma concolor. Puma concolor is the scientific name for puma, mountain lion, and cougar.

    1. Scientific names as well as Taxonomy/classification are important because they are the simplified way to refer to organisms universally, where ever in the world to avoid confusion. An example of a scientific name in which we used in class would be a Homo sapien which means human. This scientific name can be used for example if you ever find yourself in a foreign country and do not know the translation to say human in that foreign language, then it would be in your advantage to have knowledge of how to say the scientific name of human which is Homo sapien.

    4. HS P4: I agree with her how she said the important is because they are simplified way to refer to organisms universally. Also how she brought up an example of the scientific name for human (Homo sapien) she came up with a good point about when in aa foreign place with a foreign language then you can use the scientific name. She just had to add the greek and latin format :)

  3. Scientific names and Taxonomy/Classification is important because they help people have a better understanding of which type of animal it is because of there scientific name. The panda has a scientific name in which people would understand, the Ailuropoda melanoleuca it is. And I am sure that people from around the world can understand what type of animal it is because of its scientific name.

  5. Scientific names and Taxonomy/classification of organisms are important because it is a universal way of communicating with scientists. No matter what language certain scientists speak, they all know the set scientific name of every organism. One scientific name that we used is Melittobia digitata, the WOWbug.

    1. 6. SG P:3 Scientific names and Taxonomy/classification of organisms are important because it is a universal name for the animal. Scientists who speak different languages will be able to understand an organisms name even if both scientists don't speak the same language. 7. AT P7: Scientific names and taxonomy/classification of organisms are important because they are a universal language that every scientist understands. It is especially useful when scientists who speak different languages are trying to communicate with one another, An example of a scientific name of an organism is Puma concolor. This means mountain lion.

  10. JJ P3: Scientific names and taxonomy/classification of organisms are important for some reasons, including to specify that organism in a different way using different information about the organism. Scientific names use 2 Latin or Greek words so that scientists would be able to know what that organism is. Taxonomy is how the organism is classified, based on the history and specific information of the organism. An example of a scientific name we used in class would be Homo sapiens to describe humans.

  11. EL P3: Scientific names and taxonomy/classification of organisms are of importance because they distinguish differences in organisms. Scientific names are universal, meaning that all scientists have the ability to communicate about different beings. This becomes very helpful in instances when people of different languages need to communicate. An example of a scientific name we used in class is Puma concolor, which is a cougar.

It is important because the scientific name can help scientist from anywhere know what they are talking about. for any organisms and animals the person would know what it is. Say someone who did not speak English came here they would know what the organisms or animal was. One scientific name is Chelonioide which is the sea turtle!

  16. LT P3: The scientific name is important because if you are from a different country and you don't know the name of the animal you can refer back to the scientific name. Also it is the name for everyone to call it because the scientific name never changes. One scientific name that we used in class is the Puma concolor or the mountain lion.

Scientific names and Taxonomy/ Classification is very important when you are talking about organisms. There are so many different languages in the world so scientific names are universal when scientists are speaking with each other; there is no language barrier. Taxonomy help scientist to learn more about the overall scheme of the organism. The scientific name for the puma is felis concolor. In English the puma is also referred to as cougar and mountain lion.

  53. Scientific names and Taxonomy classifications are very important because not all people know the same language and when foreign people try to say an organism's name, we would not understand it. This can be very important when scientists come together to discuss. No one would know what the others are talking about. Scientific names are always either Latin or Greek. In science, we were assigned to find the differences between a puma, cougar, and a mountain lion. They are all the same thing and referred to as Puma concolor, because they are all the same thing although known by different names.
