AD PERIOD 2I think New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2015. I think it will leave because it has so much fuel and use gravity. There will be problems such as the ship crashing into a meteor or can go out of orbit because of gravity from other planets. It will leave our solar system because Pluto is not considered to be a part of our solar system. First Post!!!!!!!
I think that New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2025. I think it is traveling so fast because there is no air resistance. I predict that New Horizons will not wake up. therefor it may travel outside the solar stem but will not do any good.
Joshua CifferPeriod 1I do think New Horizon will reach Pluto by 2015 because it got the gravity assist from Jupiter. It is traveling so many miles because a, it got the gravity assist from Jupiter & b, there is nothing in space to slow it down. The only problem that I can see is maybe the sun's sphere of gravity might catch New Horizon & pull it back toward the solar system, but other then that I think it will leave the solar system.
i think New Horizons will reach pluto by 2024 because since its been sent out in 2006. in the vid it said its nearly half way to pluto. i dont think it will wake up because it could either get damaged by meteors or since its not located directly than it would go in different directionsSean Mendoza pd 5
CG Period 5New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2015. This is because it uses the gravity from other planets to keep itself moving. Some problems New Horizons might have is being hit by objects such as asteroids. New Horizons will eventually leave our solar system because there is no way to retrieve it.
AS Period 7I think New Horizons will get to Pluto by 2015. It might run into problems because of all the planets that are passing. The gravity from the other planets may throw it off course. After it passes Pluto, I think it will start leaving our solar system. After that it will keep moving forever because their is no other forces stopping, unless it runs into a asteroid.
KP PD2We all learned that New Horizon set off to space in 2006 from earth. I think New Horizon will reach Pluto by 2015-2020. It doesn't need much fuel because the gravitational pull would pull it toward the planet and also since there's no gravity in space so it would just float around. However, the fuel could push New Horizon in the right direction.
FB Period 1I believe New Horizons will get to Pluto by 2015. This is because it has been traveling since 2007 and his already passing Uranus. It may take some time, but in a year it probably will reach Pluto. I believe it will leave our solar system, and maybe in a few billion years, leave our galaxy. I think this because there is no force to stop New Horizons from continuing on its interstellar/intergalactic journey.
New Horizon will arrive shortly. I think this because it is already passed Uranus. On the map it didn't look very far but I think it will take a year or two. It is using the first law of motion Newton created. So New Horizon will discover everything to infinity and beyond...
SY Period 1I think New Horizons will get to Pluto by 2015. The gravity from other planets is used to help it keep moving. A problem New Horizons might run into is the asteroids coming towards it. I think it will travel out of our solar system because there is no force to stop it.
MM Period 3 The New Horizon is traveling fast and far everyday. I believe that it will reach Pluto by 2015 and travel past it so that the scientists can examine the small dwarf planet. Eventually, after a few decades it will leave our solar system because of Newtons first law of motion: a object in motion will stay in motion AKA the law of inertia. This is because, in outer space there will be nothing to stop this machine from continuing its strait line towards and past pluto. In the future,we might not only learn more information on whats on Pluto, but maybe whats past our solar system.
PB Period 1I think that New Horizons will reach Pluto before July of 2015. The gravity from other planets may speed it up more than anticipated. Problems include crashing or going off course. I think it will eventually exit our solar system because no force can stop it and we can't retrieve it.
LN Period 2I think New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2015. They have been able to track it so accurately over the past years it has been in space, so I think their prediction is correct. New Horizons uses gravity to make its long journey. I also think it will leave the solar system, however once that happens, we may not be able to track it anymore.
DR Period 2I think that New Horizions will not get to Pluto by 2015. It has taken 8 years for it to get a-little more than half way to pluto. New Horizion has only a year to get to pluto. It is traveling so many miles because it is hitching a ride from the planets orbit and New Horizion just needs enough fuel to push it in the right direction because gravity will keep it floating. I think that the only problem they will have is that NASA will loose video communication with New Horizion. I think that it will eventually leave our solar system because gravity and orbiting planets will keep it moving.
AF Period 3I think New Horizons will reach Pluto around 2015 and 2020 because there is a big distance between the earth and Pluto. New Horizons can travel so many miles because first, It doesn't need much fuel because the gravitational pull would pull it toward the planets it pass by and its speed will increase and it'll go much faster and there's no gravity in space so it would just move around with no need of any fuel. It will take an extra time, maybe because of its surroundings. And it will definitely leave our solar system because it have been traveling outside of the earth for 8 years, so it can travel more and get to pluto.
Aaliyah Vega Period 1 I think New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2015. I think it will because it has a lot of fuel and uses the force of gravity.it travels so many miles because of the fuel and aid of gravity. It will be a long time before it leaves the Solar System. Voyager 1, which was launched in 1977, is just now leaving the Solar System after 35 years, and New Horizons isn't much faster, if at all.
TG Period 2I think it will reach Pluto by 2015 because It is traveling so fast. I also think there might be some complications with it because no one really knows what exactly is in space or what might happen. I also think some day it will reach beyond our solar systems. No matter what the result is New Horizons is a great scientific accomplishment and will most likely provide us with new information about our solar system and Pluto.
MC - Period 2 I think New Horizons will make it to Pluto by 2015. It's traveling so many miles because of the gravity assist from the other planets. However, New Horizons might bump into asteroids and even though the gravitational pull there helps with its journey, it can throw it off its path. Yes, I think someday, it will leave the solar system - there's no force there in space that can stop it.
Joe Romano Period 6I think New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2015. This is because it travels at a very fast speed. It is traveling so many miles because it uses the gravity assist from other planets. One problem that could happen is it may crash into an asteroid. Yes, I do think it will leave the solar system because there nothing to stop it for the most part.
It will reach Pluto by 2015. It uses the gravity assist to move in a specific route, with some fuel needed too. There will be no problems, if they conserve the fuel.It is a giant leap to get out of the solar system which will be completed in a number of years. As Neil Armstrong once said," This is one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."EG period 2
NA Period 6I do think the New Horizon probe will reach Pluto by the year 2015. It has traveled so far by gravity assist and Newton's 1st Law of Motion. I think the only problem NASA might have is they won't be able to gather all the information that they will need once New Horizon passes by Pluto. It might leave the solar system, but after it leaves we may not be able to track it. 524 days 13 hours 33 minutes and 35 seconds 34 seconds 33 seconds......
I believe New Horizons may reach Pluto by 2015. As long as it doesn't hit anything... it will reach it. Because of nearby planet's gravitational pull, its speed will allow it to reach its destination. Some problems are it could accidentally get pulled into a planet (rare), hit an asteroid, some of its machinery could malfunction, and more. But this chance could never happen. If it reaches Pluto, it may have more energy to go past our solar system and into the galaxies.

It will reach Pluto by 2015. It uses Jupiter's gravity for it to move. Plus, Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system. Hence the bigger the planet the stronger the gravity. It's not just Jupiter's gravitational pull, but other planets made it move that far. In the map we saw where "New Horizon" was, it was really close to Pluto. I think "New Horizon" will go out of the solar system. Since there's nothing stopping the probe it will keep going. But in years it will soon fade away by anything. (blackholes, big stars, etc,)
IHPeriod 7I think that it will reach Pluto by 2015. It is traveling all of these miles by using different forces in the solar system. I believe that it can keep traveling and possibly leave the solar system.
PLEASE READ:This exploration of space and Pluto reminds me of an exploration of the sea that will be undergoing very soon. The Seaorbiter (the space station of the sea) is being built right now and contrary to popular belief, we know very little about our sea. With this new Seaorbiter we will know so much and you have a chance to get your name carved into a part of the ship. This is a chance to learn and go on a cruise, because both scientists and normal citizens can both ride the ship. The site address is below If you would like to know more (which I recommend.)http://newswatch.nationalgeographic.com/2013/12/09/seaorbiter-help-build-this-space-station-of-the-sea/VM Per.5
Very interesting Valon, thank you for sharing!
Nice work Valon! =)
JG Period 7Yes I believe that New Horizon will reach Pluto by July of 2015 because with all the research NASA been doing, the researchers working on the project must have mapped out and finalized the date of New Horizon's orbit of Pluto. It is moving very fast because Newton's 1st law of motion is acting upon it. Newton's 1st law states that an object in motion stays in motion and an object at rest stays at rest unless an unbalanced force acts upon it. So New Horizon will keep moving unless something acts upon it. One problem I anticipate happening would be that New Horizon will be thrown off course because of it bumping into something in its way. I believe that New Horizon will leave our solar system due to the fact that nothing is there to stop it on its course.
I think New Horizon will reach Pluto by 2015. It doesn't need much fuel because the gravitational pull would pull it toward the planet and also since there's no gravity in space so it would just float around. However the feel could push the new horizon in the right direction.
I believe that new horizons will reach Pluto sooner than planned because of the gravity slingshot will launch it faster so it get farther in a shooter period
I believe that the New Horizon will not be exact on date, but will reach Pluto by 2015. The probe is moving very fast and does not need alot of fuel because of Newtons 1st Law of Motion. It states if an object in motion stays in motion until an outside force acts upon it, and because it is low gravity, there is not alot of outside force acting upon the probe. New Horizon may encounter a problem with maybe asteroids and or other debris. I alos believe that New Horizon will be able to leave our solar system if it continues it's amazing journey.
JC Period 1I think that New Horizons will reach Pluto by July 2015. This is because of the gravity assist it acquires from Jupiter. It uses the assist to make a it slingshot itself. A problem New Horizons may face is flying objects. This includes asteroids and other debris. I also think that New Horizons will go out of the solar system. However, I think this will take much longer than 2015.
D.H period 2I absolutely think that the new Horizon will reach pluto by 2015. Many things are "helping" it reach the Pluto at the rate its going. One of them being that the New Horizon gets pulled into the other planets gravitational pull so ever since the rocket whent off since its in space its inertia keeps on getting stronger.
period 7 I think that horizon will reach Pluto in 2015.By the rate it has traveled, the planets magnetic push will increase its speed dramatically. The only problem is that it may get pushed out of its path somehow leading it to no where. Also the possibilities of asteroids hitting it may be likely. I hope that scientists let it keep going on even till they reach out of our solar system. If this continues research will go on and on and who knows, in a 100 years we may find some cool new planets in different galaxies.
AP period 1I think that the new horizon will reach the planet Pluto by 2015. the magnetic gravity assists from the planets will definitely help the new horizons in its path to Pluto. It is almost to Pluto now, and in only a year or two it should be there. It might even make it before time! It would be the first time a flying aircraft arrived early to its destination. Who knows what we might find on Pluto. I definitely want to know. What about you?
Abhineet Jain period 7I think that New Horizon will reach Pluto by 2015 because it is already on a good course, and also with the planets magnetic pull it will make it go faster, and there are also many big planets next on its way, which means a bigger magnetic fiend. Some problems that could occur are that it could get a little off track. Also if it does reach it will be the first probe to Pluto.
SS Period 7I think New Horizons can reach Pluto by 2015. This is because scientists carefully planned his spacecraft's flight; they weren't just sending it to space hoping for some good feedback. New Horizon is traveling a numerous amount of miles through space. This is able to happen because the magnetic pull of the sun and the planets are sending farther into space. A problem that i can think of that can happen is the scientists losing connection with New Horizons. They never know how far the space craft can get into space without losing connection with it. Also if it goes beyond Pluto, and beyond our Solar System, it can be a greater risk of breaking connection. Although i think it can go beyond our Solar System.
ZA Period 7I don't think that New Horizon will reach Pluto by 2015. I think that its just a rough/approximate value and that there is always room for human error. It is moving incredibly fast because according to Newton's first law it can't be stopped because a force isn't acting upon it. Also, it id being assisted by Jupiter's gravity. It may run into problems such as asteroids or debris along with gravitational pulls from other planets. It will probably leave our solar system but i doubt that will happen before 2020
DS Period 7I think that New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2015. It is traveling so many miles because New Horizons was sitting on top of a powerful rocket. When the rocket was launched, it produced an unbalanced force. This made the rocket move very quickly, and it gained a lot of kinetic energy. When a certain speed was reached, the rocket was released. New Horizons used inertia to keep moving. The probe might lose communication with NASA. New Horizons will soon probably leave our Solar System. Debamita Saha
JJ Period 2I think that new horizon will reach Pluto by 2015. It was able to travel fast for a few years due to the planet gravitational push and the guide of its rockets. The new horizon may be able to make it if nothing interferes. This an amazing aircraft will be able to reach Pluto and hopefully beyond the solar system. For new horizon to reach outside our solar system it will take a few decades but, it probably will run out of fuel.
RR Period 3I think that the New Horizon will reach Pluto by 2015. The reason I think this is because it is traveling very fast due to gravitational pull. If it keeps traveling without any problems I feel that it will leave our solar system.
JL Period 7I do think New Horizons will reach Pluto by July 2015. Since it is already so close to the dwarf planet. It is travelig so many miles because of the gravity assist. I do anticipate some problems like asteroids and other debris. I do believe it will leave our solar system because Pluto isn't in our solar system any more. Also, I think it will be okay for it to leave since once they get pictures, tey don't really need it anymore. Learning about New Horizons, gravity, friction, and watching the video about New Horizons was very interesting.
RV period 7Yes, I do think New Horizons will reach Pluto by July 2015. It is traveling so many miles because of the gravity assist. Yes, i anticipate some problems caused by asteroids, debris, etc., but i do believe it can make it there. If it can continue to move outside of our solar system, why not let it?
This project is an amazing accomplishment by the Scientific community. I'm glad you are interested and have made some very insightful comments. Please consider the words of Stephen Hawking, "There ought to be something very special about the boundary conditions of the universe and what can be more special than that there is no boundary?" These words ring true for our Universe and I hope you can find the meaning for you! :)Read more at http://www.notable-quotes.com/h/hawking_stephen.html#6xhx01BFVDqATSg6.99
AC Period 5I think that New Horizons will reach Pluto in July of 2015. It's traveling so many miles because of the gravity assist. I also anticipate some problems like possibly loosing contact with it or it being hit by space objects. It may leave our solar system, but if it did it wouldn't be for a while.
I think new horizons will reach its goal between 2015 and 2020. I do not anticipate any problems and do think it will leave our solar system which is good because NASA can gain information on whats outside or solar system. I think it is going so fast due to newtons 1st law. an object in ,motion will stay in motion if no greater force is acting upon it.
I think that New Horizons will reach pluto in 2015 or later. I do not believe that this occurance would cause any problems because I think that it would be a great way for scientists to discover more about what is outside our solar system. I do have some concerns that it would encounter some debris or asteroids that may cause it to shift. The New Horizons will stay in motion and keep moving because there is no force to oppose its motion.KC Period 7
OV Period6New Horizons was interesting to learn about! I believe it will reach pluto by 2015 or in later years to come. I don't anticipate any problems occurring. I believe this will help us have a better understanding of not just our solar system, but the solar systems beyond ours.
RS period 5I think that new horizons will reach pluto by the year 2015. I think so because of the following. Scientist have made a prediction that New Horizons will reach pluto in the year 2015. I think that the spacecraft will leave our solar system.
EH period 2New horizons will probably reach pluto next year, if all goes good. the space probe shot out our atmosphere an a rocket which brought it too 35,000 mph. The probe now uses the gravitational pull of larger planets which shoot the probe onward. I believe with all that momentum, New Horizons will shoot out of our solar system.
I believe New Horizons will reach where Pluto used to be. I only think that because planets can move so fast. But if all is good, we could say , " Hi there lil' deserted dwarf planet!" the only reason New Horizons made it this far is because it used the gravity from other planets to forge on. but if the planet is the right size. than the planet can redirect New Horizons. I believe it will go out of our solar system. maybe we could snap a picture of a black hole. I can' wait for our next blog!
JM Period 5I think New Horizons will reach Pluto by the end of 2015. It is traveling so many miles because of Newton's first law; an object in motion will stay in motion unless a greater force acts upon it. I think some possible problems might be asteroids or other debris in space. I don't think New Horizons will leave our solar system.
BV Period 2I definitely think that the New Horizons Space Probe will reach Pluto by 2015 because there isn't really anything to stop it. It's traveling so many miles because of the gravity assistance from Jupiter. It'll probably leave our Solar System in the years to come.
Yes, I do think New Horizons will reach Pluto by 2015. In space, it keeps moving due to the gravitational pull from the planets when it is near them. Because of this, it can speed past them with very little fuel. With that happening, I think it will reach Pluto, unless it collides with some sort of debris in space on the way.
No, I don't think it will reach Pluto by 2015. It may be going very fast but i don't think it will be fast enough. Due to the gravitational slingshot of other planets and gravity forces keep it propelled in a certain direction. The only problem I can thing of is a solitary asteroid or a planet.
